Step-By-Step Guide For How To Draw A Bear Face
Step 1. Draw The Head
Imagine a bear’s head as a big, wide circle. We’re going to draw an oval to start with. This will be the base of the head.
Step 2. Add The Dee-Set Eye Fur
They have very expressive eyes, and to show this in our cartoon bear, we’ll draw ovals for the fur around the eyes.
Place an oval on each side of the head, up high, to start the eyes.
Step 3. Draw In The Details Of The Eyes
Bears might look like they have small eyes because they’re so dark and surrounded by thick fur.
Add a small circle towards the top for each eye inside the ovals you drew. Inside these, draw even smaller circles for the pupils.
Step 4. Create The Nose
Now, let’s draw the nose. It looks like a wide, upside-down triangle with smooth corners.
Fill in the eyes with black, but leave the pupils white to make them stand out.
Step 5. Detail The Nose
Draw a smaller triangle inside the big one to make the nose look real. This little trick adds depth to the bear’s snout.
Step 6. Sketch The Mouth
For the mouth, draw a straight line down from the nose, but don’t go all the way to the bottom of the snout.
Then, add a curved line for the mouth, connecting in the middle of that straight line.
Step 7. Create The Ears
Finally, let’s add ears to our bear. They’re like half circles on the top sides of the head.
If you draw an imaginary line from the middle of the eye fur straight up, that’s where the middle of each ear should be.
Inside each ear, draw another smaller half-circle for the inner ear.
And there you have it! Are you ready to try drawing the bear’s body next? If not, no worries—we’ll have a guide for that soon.
Keep practicing, and have fun with your drawings!
